This is a really fun craft for kids. It's easy to make and my little girl loves wearing her finished headband.
You can't go wrong with a craft that involves pom poms and pipe cleaners. Those two craft supplies are always a hit with kids. Even more so when they are sparkly too.
Today she wants to show you how she made this snowflake headband craft. She is especially proud of the little cute coils she made with the pipe cleaners, and wanted to teach other kids this technique.

She loves her hot glue gun
I'm always trying to come up with easy craft ideas that my kid can do with a hot glue gun. This last Halloween, she swapped me all her candy for this hot glue gun.
For the past few months, she has been loving her hot glue gun. She nearly finds something to use it for on a daily basis. You'll need a hot glue gun for this craft.
Supplies for DIY Snowflake Headband
We bought these snowflake headbands at Michael's, and it was a seasonal product that's no longer sold. That's okay though because Amazon sells a lot of snowflake headbands. Alternatively, you can use any craft headband, and easily hot glue on snowflake embellishments.
The pom poms I used in the photos also came from a seasonal assorted pack from Michael's. Unfortunately they stopped selling it at Christmas. You can make your own colorful mix of glitter sparkle pom poms with these packs though:
How to Make This Snowflake Headband Craft
To make these DIY snowflake headbands, use your creativity and start gluing. My four-year-old designed her own, and decided where she wanted to glue her pom poms and pipe cleaners.
She wants to show everyone how she made the pipe cleaner coil springs though. It's a cute technique that she taught me.
First, wrap the pipe cleaner around your finger.
Next, gently remove it from your finger.
Third, add it on your headband with a dob of hot glue gun. That's it!

- snowflake headbands
- sparkly pom poms - a mix of sizes and colors
- sparkly pipe cleaners
Instructions
- Use a hot glue gun to attach pom poms to the snowflake headbands.
- Wrap pipe cleaners on your fingers to make little coils. Hot glue the pipe cleaner coils to the headbands.
- Make sure the hot glue is cool before putting it on the headband.
