Good Birthday Interview Questions You'll Love
We have a birthday coming up, and I've been getting ready! Here's a printable full of birthday interview questions.
To celebrate the birthday person, we're going to give them an interview. I'll be holding on to this completed birthday interview for a long time. It's a tradition I'm willing to start, and I can't wait to see how responses change over the years.
What's a Birthday Interview?
A birthday interview is a fun way to make the birthday person feel extra special. We ask the birthday person lots of questions about themselves.
It's also a way to help reflect on the past year, as well as think about the upcoming year.
I made this birthday interview into a colorful printable so you can print it out and save. That way, it's easy to look back and see changes through the years.
Older kids won't have a problem completing this birthday printable by themselves. Younger kids will likely need help writing down their answers. Don't let this birthday interview be limited for kids though. I made it so the whole family can participate and do it.
What's On This Printable Birthday Interview?
First, this birthday interview starts with a spot for a self portrait picture. Next, there's some basic information to fill out, the obvious being name and age. Because kids like to see how tall they are, there's a spot for the birthday person to estimate their height in terms of cupcakes too.
Since we're celebrating the birthday person, we ask them to list out a slew of favorites.
What's your favorite:
- Food
- Color
- Book
- Movie
- Song
- Animal
- Toy
- Game
- Sport
- Place to Go
To finish up the birthday interview, there are a few last thoughtful questions:
- One thing you are proud of from last year?
- Next year, what are looking forward to?
- What's the best thing about your birthday?
At the very end, the birthday interview gives a spot for a signature. I always end these type of about me printables with a signature, and the kids love it. It's interesting to see how their signature changes every single time.
More Birthday Questions To Ask
To spark more conversations, here are are some additional birthday questions to ask:
- What did you enjoy most about being your previous age?
- What's one thing you learned about yourself last year?
- What was the scariest thing you did last year?
- Where would you like to go on vacation to next year?
- What makes you happy?
- What makes you sad?
- Can you tell me your favorite memory from last year?
- What is one goal you have for your upcoming year?
- What is one thing you want to remember about being your previous age?
Birthdays are a perfect time to celebrate everything the person has done during the previous year. So if there's an outstanding moment to ask about, don't forget that too.
More Birthday Ideas For The Family
We love birthday celebrations, and the kids start getting excited about their upcoming birthdays months in advance.
Despite trying to live clutter free, I've desperately wanted to buy a countdown clock for them. The kids would get such a kick out of it! It might save my sanity too, so they don't keep asking me how many days left until their birthdays.
Birthday mornings here usually start off with Funfetti Waffles and this printable birthday scavenger hunt. This year, I'm going to add on this birthday interview this year too. I can't wait to get this new tradition started.
Here are a few other (generally easy and last minute) Birthday Morning Surprise Ideas that we have fun doing too.

Hopefully this new printable is a hit for your birthday celebrations. Save it and print it year after year. It's colorful, and looks like it's made for kids. But don't let that stop you from completing it too. It's fun for the entire family to do.
